We love a good challenge at North East Martial Arts, so much so that we've done this one every year for the past four years. Last year was the first year I managed to complete it - it took a year like 2020 to show me what my body is capable of. (Shout out to Sam, TG and Nico who also finished.)

The rules are simple - Starting December 1st 2021, complete 2022 push-ups before January 1st 2022. That's a lot of push-ups! Yes, it is. That's what makes it a challenge. It won't be easy - it will be worth it.

How many push-ups per day? It averages out at 65 push-ups per day, which isn't too bad, unless you miss a day or two. Do modified push-ups count? It's up to you. If you're a beginner, then sure, put your knees down. If you're a black belt, then no. What if I don't finish? Well done for trying! Even if you only make it halfway, that's still 1000 push-ups you wouldn't have done otherwise. If you're joining in, keep us all posted by commenting on our social media posts with your running total.
